Randersa Racing will be joining ThreeBond Drago Corse and Nirei Fukuzumi in Sportsland SUGO this weekend.

Randersa Racing had announced they were closing their doors following the disappointing ending to their 2021 campaign, but they will be competing once again, this time in Super Formula.

Almost all members of Randersa Racing had departed to participate in the Marunnian Academy championships, including the team manager, Lucy Baumann. Randersa Racing's sudden return announcement meant Baumann and many others will not be able to make it back, at least for this year.

Instead, Randersa Racing welcomes Marie Vieira from Portugal as team manager. Tommy and Marie worked together in the academy in 2017. Marlene Werner, one of the ambassadors for the team in 2021, also returns to Randersa Racing for 2022. No test driver has been selected for this weekend.

The racing team, ThreeBond Drago Corse, was founded by Ryo Michigami in late 2014. They ran 3 rounds in 2014 and throughout 2015 and 2016 before temporarily closing their Super Formula programmes. They returned in 2020 to provide a car for Tatiana Calderon and have always run a single car. Even with Koudai Tsukakoshi's efforts as a reserve to fill in when Calderon wasn't available, they haven't scored a point to date. Honda Formula Dream Project driver Nirei Fukuzumi has replaced Calderon for 2022, but has been unable to score a point so far. The team's best result to date has been a 4th place finish in the 2016 Suzuka season opener with Takashi Kogure.

This weekend will mark Randersa's debut in the Super Formula series and will be the first time the team has run two cars in its history. Randersa will compete without any personal sponsors and Randersa Racing will be bringing a Honda-supported financial package to the team.

Randersa had concerns about his health throughout the 6-month break and stated his worries about his potential lack of performance. "However, I will do my very best to score the first points of the team since their comeback"
